Being You: The Body Image Book For Boys

By Dr. Charlotte Markey, Dr. Daniel Hart and Douglas Zacher, M.A.

Book References

Being You is an evidence-based book. What does that mean? It means that the authors read a lot of scientific articles, books, and web pages before writing this book. Below is a list, by chapter, of the references for information included in the book. Some of the references include links if you are interested in reading the original research.

Being You offers advice for boys (and their parents and caregivers) about body image—and about life in general. This advice is derived from scientific research as much as possible. This is important because many people may be willing to offer you advice, but this does not mean that what they are offering is good or reliable information.
